After 50, what if our greatest advantage was knowing how to choose better?

After 50 , does experience become our greatest professional advantage … but also a lever for our overall health ?

There is a lot of talk about the next generation, young entrepreneurs, those who are starting their careers and who want to change the world.

And thankfully so!

But we perhaps talk less about this other professional period where something changes. After 50 , we have accumulated experiences, developed a network, known successes… but also a few failures.

We have made some bad decisions. We have made some excellent ones.

And most importantly, we learned !

With age often comes a different ability to prioritize , decide , put things into perspective, and trust one's intuition.

We know better where we want to go!

But perhaps even more importantly: we are getting better and better at knowing where we no longer want to go.

And this can have a considerable impact on our overall health.

Because with experience also comes, ideally, a better understanding of oneself : recognizing one's limits, protecting one's energy, understanding the importance of sleep, moving more, better managing one's stress and devoting time to the people and activities that make us feel good.

Professional performance should perhaps no longer be measured solely by the number of hours worked or the speed at which we progress. It could also be measured by our ability to remain healthy long enough to benefit from what we build.

At 50, 55 or 60 years old and over, there are still a huge number of projects to create, knowledge to pass on and new avenues to explore.

Experience is therefore not necessarily a hindrance to boldness.

It can become what allows us to be bold… with much more discernment.

After 50, the real privilege may not be having more experience, but having learned enough to succeed in other ways: with ambition, certainly, but also with balance, health and pleasure.
